Frequently Asked Questions

If this information does not answer your question, please email us.

What is the admission process?
Initially a tour is scheduled. From there the potential resident would need to be assessed by our executive director to ensure the community would be a proper fit for the individual. Finally, the admission packet would need to be completed with the assistance of your primary physician, and possibly your case manager (if applicable).

Who handles medication issues?
Typically all medications are managed and administered by the trained staff at the community. In some cases, with doctor’s orders, residents are permitted to manage and administer medications on their own.

What pharmacy do you use?
Our communities use SeniorMed Pharmacy (see “Useful Links” for more info.) to fill prescriptions. SeniorMed will deliver most medications same day, given the order is received before 4:00pm.

Is there always a caregiver at the community?
Our house managers live at the community, typically in the lower level of the home. They take care of administering medications, preparing meals, laundry, and take care of any assistance residents may need. They typically are awake from 7:00am until about 9:00pm, and sleep at the community during the night. We also have a weekend caregiver who comes to tend to the community on weekends while house managers are off.

Does each community have a housekeeper?
Each community has a housekeeper who comes to do deep cleaning of kitchens, common areas, and resident rooms (if requested).

Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes, all of our communities accept Medicaid. We do not accept Medicaid pending, potential residents must already be approved.

Are there regular activities at the community?
There is at least one scheduled activity at the community each day. Typically these activities include arts, crafts, games, Bingo, movie nights, special guest musicians, etc. We are always attempting to include specific resident interests into our regularly scheduled activities, and will assess potential residents' interests upon move-in. In addition we also have seasonal activities and parties for holidays and special events.

Are the rooms private or shared?
At Sycamore there are nine total rooms. Eight of those rooms are private and one is a larger shared room.
At Marion there are four rooms, all of which are shared.
At Orchard there are six total rooms. Four of those are private and two are larger shared rooms.

When are the scheduled meal times?
Breakfast is at 8:00 am, lunch is at 12pm, and dinner is at 5pm. There are always snacks and drinks available 24 hours a day.

How do residents get to and from doctors appointments, grocery stores, etc. ?
If the resident is a Medicaid client, they are able to use Logisticare for medical transportation to and from doctor's appointments. In addition, Medicaid clients may also be eligible for non-medical transportation through various transportation companies, this needs to be approved and arranged through the residents' case manager. If resident is not a Medicaid client transportation arrangements can be made through Access-a-Ride for a fee of $3.00 each way. Our executive director can assist in referring families and residents to transportation possibilities, and can also aid in helping complete forms, etc.

Are residents able to leave the community?
Residents are able to come and go from the community freely. We do require they sign in and out when leaving and returning, to make sure they are safe.

Can family and friends visit at the community?
Absolutely! Our communities are always open, and friends and family are welcome to stop by and visit, even stay for a meal. Please alert caregiver if you plan on staying to eat a meal so they are able to plan to have enough food prepared.

What are the rules of the community?
We do have House Rules that must be followed in order to stay at our communities. The rules include our policies on smoking, alcohol consumption, quiet hours, fire safety, etc. For a complete list of House Rules please ask executive director; a copy is also included as part of the admission packet and is posted at every community.

All caregivers at our communities are qualified medication administration personnel (Q-MAP), and have completed a course through the State of Colorado, and passed the test to hold this certificate.
